In case you haven’t noticed, in recent years dandiness and fanciness have made a big comeback. It’s like a resurgence of the late 19th century…when people dressed with style, spoke with refineness and took things with leisure (all the while sporting an awesome ‘stache).
People treated themselves as works of arts. And when it comes down to it, that’s what it is…ART!
So, what’s all this talk about dandiness doing on a site about NARWHALS? Well I’m glad you asked! You see, some visionary artist has taken the fancy, dancy, tea-loving, nonchalance lifestyle of the dandy and combined them with the awesomeness of the narwhal!
That artist runs the appropriately named shop: The Fancy Narwhal.
Based out of Hollywood, California , The Fancy Narwhal seeks to share their fancy goods with fine folks. Founded in 2011, The Fancy Narwhal was primarily an artistic outlet for its founder whose love of narwhals spans decades–ever since her first viewing of The Island on Top of the World. Now, the company has evolved into a place where gentlemen and gentlewomen can stock up on notebooks, buttons, blended teas, and other fancy delights!
Let’s have a peek at some of their goods:
- Fine Tea for Fancy Folks Narwhal Sticker Set – Stickers bring out the kid in all of us. Even as a man in my 30’s, my laptop is covered in 80’s hair metal band stickers. These narwhal stickers would look good anywhere.
- Narwhal Ocean MAGNET SET – Add some style to your boring fridge with these magnets!
- The Fancy Narwhal Button Set – Buttons are back in style now thanks to all those wild, rule-breaking hipsters. And narwhals make buttons even cooler!
In addition to narwhal thingys, they have Time Traveling Blended Tea Sets that can send you to the future as well as wake you up in the morning. Also, some adorable moleskine notebooks that feature cats in hats and anthropomorphic tea cups. They even have one of a kind Harry Potter artwork too!
I dunno about you, but I’ve already started growing out my ironic mustache in preparation for some whimsical, narwhaly tea parties.
Anyway, be a dandy doll and check them out on Etsy: http://www.etsy.com/shop/TheFancyNarwhal or on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TheFancyNarwhal
